Birthday bash

Sam was invited to a mini-golf birthday party last weekend, and of course like any mom I went camera in-hand to capture the fun. Ashton and his classmates had a Piratey-good time at Pirate's Cove on a brilliant Saturday afternoon. (Thank goodness for TiVo because the UGA/LSU game was on, and Bill was back at the house sweating until I got home. But never mind that.)

Anyway, Sam and Co. golfed (sort of), ate cake and opened presents with the wonderful vim and vigor that 5-year-olds have. He even took home an eye patch and treasure chest for his little brother. I posted a few of my favorites below. Happy Birthday Ashton!

I have to admit it

I've had an affair of the heart with another man. I'm sorry Bill. I have to say it out loud. His name is UGA VII. I mean would you just look at this dog? For the love of Pete he's a knockout, and we had the privilege of meeting him in person at Georgia's homecoming.

Sam is only pictured below because UGA tried to lick Jack and he wanted no part of it. The trip was also special because mom-mom was there too! Now if we can just hold on this weekend and beat the Gators, I really think we'll be on our way. Go Dawgs!

Phinally!

Whoo hoo! To those long suffering Philly fans like myself who haven't let go of Mitch Williams' watermelon pitch to Joe Carter in the '93 Series in the bottom of the 9th: rest easy my friends, we're now THE champs.

I can't believe it. It's us. I'm really - IT IS US. Philly - the city who booed Santa finally gets its championship after so many years. At this point, I don't even care what sport it's in. I can finally put those memories of that ball sailing over the fence sometime after midnight to rest! The image of jubilant Joe Carter skipping around Vet Stadium's infield that ended my dream as a college senior of gorgeous Darren Daulton and loveable John "ESPN" Kruk winning the big one for my hometown is now a distant memory. Cue that Queen music and sing it loud! WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

Trunk or Treat?

This is our first Halloween at our new church, and me being raised Catholic had never heard of "Trunk or Treat." Well, let me tell you, it's adorable. Imagine a movie where the bad guy sells stolen stereos from his trunk and there's a sale on Blue Ray players. Now replace that with tiny tots in costumes going from car to car raiding trunks for candy like there's no tomorrow, and you've got the Trunk or Treat extravaganza!

Check out a few photos I snapped in between shuttling my Buzz Lightyears (yes both of them) around the parking lot. Peter Pan's shadow?

How gorgeous is Baylor - even as Wolverine

My Boys

Okay, so what mother doesn't think her kids are THE MOST BEAUTIFUL IN THE WORLD? But, really - take a look at these two and you decide. ;)

Sam (4 1/2) and Jack (3) are funny subjects. Often you get the cheese, but sometimes in those rare moments that they aren't keeping an eye on what I'm doing, they relax and just let me capture their spirit. And in the words of Keith Jackson - Whoa Nelly - do those boys have spirit.

Run Jack run!

A Spin in the Park

I met the Braswells in a new park near my house the other week to photograph the family. Except Dad (Clayton) was dressed for the golf course and sported a completely different color than the rest of the group. Apparently our session wasn't in his Lotus calendar, so he was quickly excised from the shoot. Sorry Clayton.

The kids were super. Great subjects and Dad rallied and provided some much needed off-camera antics to keep the group focused. Take a peek at some of my favorites.

Here's Tracy . . .

Okay, so from the below post and my given moniker of "photographer" in the name of this blog, I'm guessing it's not quite a leap to get the gist of what I'm trying to do here. I have to admit, I'm a little nervous about calling myself a "photographer," but "photographer, only if you like my work" just doesn't sing. :)

I hope this is the beginning of a new path for me. Don't freak out mom - I haven't quit my job. My day job, profession and career (public relations), has been too good to me to chunk it. I will, however, continue to plug away at my passion for photography (finally discovered after all this time) and let my day job pay the bills.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Please come back often. I'll try to update it regularly with new photos and posts as quickly as I can. Don't be shy to offer comments or critiques as well.

Meet the Parkers!

My first unofficial official shoot. The mother of these adorable kids - a friend from church - was nice enough to go first after I offered my services to my Sunday school class. I was anxious, but beautiful Ashley kept me busy enough in the park to forget about everything and shoot. Her brother Ryan took a little longer to make heads or tails of me, but finally just played while I snapped away. Thanks guys!

Just love the little pink rubber band in this one.
Handsome boy! Ryan was getting tired about this time and was resting his head when he noticed I was watching. Gotcha pal.
